Hotels, restaurants and other hospitality places across Anguilla, with specially-decorated dining areas, and other spaces for social gatherings, featured menus from Anguilla, several parts of the Caribbean and outside the region, for the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The festive dinners and other events started early to give opportunity for the customary fireworks just before, or at the stroke of, midnight. Spectacular as the fireworks were, in some cases the display was impeded by a deluge of rain showers, but the celebrations continued nonetheless.
With the New Year now upon us, the people of Anguilla and, indeed everybody elsewhere in the world, look forward to a time of prosperity, hope, proper guidance and peaceful coexistence.

May a spirit of unity and goodwill abide with all of us in Anguilla as we enter a challenging and defining year in political leadership and economic and social development.
