The Anguilla Amateur Volleyball Association (AAVA) annual Mepits Solutions Business League ended on a high note, following two epic thrillers as Construction, overcame the challenge laid down by the Teachers – and ANGLEC was able to thwart a defiant Beta Blockers team.

In the first match ANGLEC won the game following and turbulent three sets. However, the “High fliers of Aiden Hazzard and Daqwan Fredericks” and hard hitters Omari Hamilton and Aristo Richardson, steered ANGLEC to victory, with a score of 25-8; 22- 25; 15-3.

Despite the eventual loss, BETA BLOCKERS limited ANGLEC’s current flow in the second with stifling blocking and very effective hitting. Unfortunately, their energy burst was short lived as ANGLEC regained their confidence and secured the game, thereby earning Bronze medal.

In the gold medal game, the resistance provided by team Teachers was not sufficient to halt the championship march of Construction. The score line for this clash was 25- 21; 12- 25 and 15- 5. Sky walker Sherwin Richardson and Randy “Jimmy” Thomas, led the Construction assault but they were equally matched by the efforts of Perry Richardson and Rakeem “Smurf” Smith. While both teams traded smashes, it was the longevity of Construction the sealed the tournament.
