The Pythons Karate Federation and Sports Club held its first examination and two day workshop under the leadership of Sensei Cameron King at their Headquarters in Rock Farm, Anguilla. The two day workshop, held on 21st and 22nd of November 2019 was conducted by Sensei King under the umbrella of the Pythons Karate Sports Club which is a subcommittee of the Pythons karate Federation.
The workshop commenced with an opening ceremony at 5pm on the 21st November 2019 where students were lectured to and given training in the Marital Arts style of Shotokan Karate. In attendance were Directors from Ministry of Youth and Culture- Ms. Avon Carty and Sports Department-Mr Andre Collins, parents and relatives of the students. The Master of Ceremony Mr. Desmond Ollivierre who skilfully moderated the program, invited the Directors of The Ministry of Youth and Culture and the Sports Department to deliver brief remarks. Brief remarks were also given by Sensei Paul Trim, President of the Pythons Karate Federation who gave an overview and history of the Federation and Sports Club. Immediately after the workshop, training commenced and continued on the 22nd of November 2019.
On Saturday 23rd of November 2019 the Pythons Karate Federation hosted their first qualification examinations where thirteen (13) students were graded. This examination marked the students’ transition from white belt or the first stage of their training to the next level according to their skills displayed. The examinations were graded by Sensei Cameron and took the format whereby students were issued with commands which showcased the style of Shotokan Karate. Upon completion the students were awarded with the belts they attained as a result of the skills displayed.
The students performed exceptionally well, which resulted in all the students advancing to the next level (yellow belt) with a few of students advancing between one (1) to two (2) levels above the yellow belt, achieving orange, green and blue belts respectively. The students were commended by Sensei Cameron for their success and high standard showcased during the examination. This is certainly a testimony of their hard work and dedication as well that of Sensei Paul Trim and Sempai Uldean Trim. The overall performance of the Pythons Karate Federation and Sports Club is well celebrated as a landmark achievement since they
only recently opened their doors in April of 2019.
