This National Debris Cleanup Programme is made possible by a vast network of communitybased volunteer groups and individuals leading the charge. Supporting partners include Sol and Delta Petroleum, Superior Trucking and Grieg’s Trucking, Vanterpool Trucking and Enrick Harrigan & Daddy’s Construction.

The fourth phase of the cleanup will be carried out in the communities of Sandy Ground, North Hill, Upper South Hill and Water Swamp commencing on the 25th October, 2019.

Residents in the above mentioned communities are kindly asked to identify debris such as metal and wood that pose dangers during strong winds and hurricanes.

Marked roll off bins/skips, for the depositing of metal and wood, will be placed in strategic but easily accessible locations from Friday 25th October, for collection of the debris.

In order for this initiative to be successful, all residents are expected to assist by depositing to the skips, all debris from their surroundings that are deemed potential hazards. These may include galvanize roofing trapped in bushy areas, loose wood, lumber and zinc as well as derelict structures and containers.

We thank you in advance for your co-operation in this very important National Cleanup Initiative. Let us continue to focus on safety and cleanliness, as we strive to increase our preparedness and mitigation efforts for this Hurricane season and beyond. The National Disaster Management Committee wishes to commend the support partners for their ongoing support and assistance to this programme.

For questions or further information please call the Department of Disaster Management at 497-2926 or the Department of Health Protection at 497 2631.
