Lots happening in the health sector. At Princess Alexandra Hospital PACE Construction has started work concreting the theatre and administration roofs and expanding A & E and Cleveland Richard’s Construction has begun work on constructing the new storage building and vehicle maintenance bay. The contract to build a new Polyclinic – the Western Polyclinic – close to the site of the South Hill Clinic was awarded to MEPITS and work will be starting soon. The island’s new ambulance, custom built to the Health Authority’s specifications arrives from Canada this week and our new Mobile Dental Unit will also be arriving from the USA. The Dental Unit will allow HAA to resume free dental checks at schools.
Foster Rogers, PS Ministry of Health and Social Development, said that……”I really welcome the news that our new ambulance and the dental unit are due to arrive this week, enhancing the support of the HAA to all Anguillians”.
In other important developments in education contracts have been successfully awarded to Bennett’s Construction for the rebuilding of Morris Vanterpool school, that was totally destroyed by Irma, and to build the new classroom blocks and an auditorium at Adrian T Hazell. A contract has also be awarded to Bumba’s Construction to build new classroom blocks at the Valley Primary school. And we are all delighted to note that tenders for four construction packages for the new Campus A have issued.
