“Today is Turn-around Day, and we have certain children who will be taking our places – and this happens every year during Teachers’ Week,” Frankie Claxton explained. “The students become teachers and the teachers become students. The teachers are sitting in the classrooms and are taught by their own students. They are so young that you won’t recognise them. All schools on the island are engaged in this activity. It is all part of Teachers’ International Day on Wednesday, October 2.”

He added: “We have just conducted a P.E. programme with the Kindergarten students straight through to Grade 6. We travel to all the schools as follows: Mondays, at Valley Primary; Tuesdays, Adrian T. Hazell; Wednesday mornings, Morris Vanterpool; Wednesday afternoons, Vivien Vanterpool; Thursdays, Orealia Kelly; and Fridays, Alwyn Allison Richardson School.”
