There will be a big cultural celebration when the Service of Thanksgiving for the late Mr. Calvert Carty, of North Hill, takes place on Saturday, October 19.

It will be held at St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral Anglican Church where the Mayoumba Folkloric Theatre will lead the tributes during part of the period from 2 to 3pm.

The late well-known cultural bearer and dramatist will be laid to rest in the Bethel Methodist Church-yard Cemetery.

Mr. Carty was known to have been involved in almost every aspect of life in Anguilla. Among his many activities he may have worked closely with some persons who sought political leadership on the island. But he never actually participated in any election as was mistakenly stated by The Anguillian newspaper in its previous edition.

May his soul rest in peace.
