They are joining in this humanitarian endeavour with their fellow members of the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
The appeal for assistance was made in a letter to the SDA Churches in Anguilla, and the other islands, by the President of the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Pastor Desmond James.
The letter reads as follows:

“I greet you in the awesome name of Jesus Christ, our Refuge and Strength! I write to inform you that we have established Sabbath, September 21, 2019, when all of the churches in the North Caribbean Conference will collect a special hurricane disaster response offering for the hurricane-ravaged territory of The Bahamas.

“As you are fully aware, several islands of The Bahamas were severely devastated by Hurricane Dorian. Our hearts were moved with compassion as we beheld the grim aftermath of the hurricane upon The Bahamas with the savage destruction of homes, shattered lives and broken hearts.

“We are therefore requesting that all the Saints in the North Caribbean Conference give a generous offering as a love and compassionate response to assist with the recovery of the people of The Bahamas. This is our initial response as we further explore the enormity of the needs of the people following this catastrophe. We will share how we will respond not only in cash but in kind.

“Let us give generously as we endeavour to make a difference in restoring the homes and hearts of the people of The Bahamas. Let us also pray continually for the leaders and people as they passionately pursue the long road to recovery and restoration.”

Meanwhile, in addition to the monetary assistance, a storage area has been designated at the Mount Fortune Church for donations of various supplies to be sent to The Bahamas.
