Anguilla’s Adriana Connor (number 11) is the recipient of a football scholarship from Murry State College (MSC) in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Adriana is an attacking midfielder, who plays for the local club “De Youngsters”, and was one of the leading goal scorers in the 2018 female league. “Adri”, as she is affectionately called by her teammates, has represented Anguilla in both the Under 15 (U15) and senior women’s regional and international football tournaments.
Her new coach, Mr. Nataka Miller, is eager to see her skill set and see how she will fit into the MSC Aggies scheme of play as the team looks to push deep into the NCJAA tournaments. Soon, all of Anguilla and other NCJAA teams will be familiar with “Adri” as she will be sporting the red and white of the MSC Aggies.
At present, Adriana is still reeling from the shock of the scholarship offer. It is therefore with much glee that Adriana would like to thank Coach Nataka Stewart (MSC) and Mr. Collin Liddy (Primary School coach and Lil Soldiers football club coach) for spotting and developing her skills, Mr. Colin Johnson (for initiating contact with Mr. Vin Blaine), Mr. Girdon Connor for being her present coach and putting in extra training sessions with her, and Mr. Matthew Brown for his encouragement and support. Special thanks is reserved for Mr. Winston Duncan who worked with her for the past two years and ensured she secured the scholarship.
