The ‘We Love Hospitality’ Club of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, in an effort to achieve its Club’s mission, ‘To Afford students endless educational opportunities through real life experiences to advance in the hospitality world’, travelled to St. Kitts and Nevis for their annual educational adventure. The adventure commenced on the 3rd of July 2019 when twelve incredibly eager to learn Club members boarded Trans Anguilla to St. Kitts.
Having been separated from St. Kitts and Nevis since 1967, and due to the fact that these islands are now an independent country, the members of ‘We love Hospitality’ Club intended to observe and compare both the similarities and differences in our (Anguilla) tourism product to theirs (St. Kitts and Nevis). Comparisons focused on Accessibility (infrastructure – roads, lighting and ports), Amenities (restaurants, shopping etc.), Attractions (both man-made and natural), Accommodations, Towns, Historical sites/preserves, Nightlife and People.
These findings will be presented mid-August to their generous sponsors at the Anguilla Social Security Board Building. Their sponsors included: The Anguilla Social Security Board, Department of Youth and Culture, Straw Hat, Hughes Medical Centre, Sunset Homes, Junies Car Rental, Webster’s Law Firm, The Reef, Carimar Beach Club, Hon. Cardigan Connor, Anemos and Calypso Charters.
The ‘We Love Hospitality’ Club wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the above sponsors for making their 2019 educational adventure possible. The adventure was led by the Club’s Founder, Mrs. Kendisha Hall-Prentice, with the assistance of the Club’s Secretary and Treasurer, Miss Avonya Reid and Miss Francisca Langlias, respectively. Club members/students reported that they obtained a wealth of knowledge, exhilarating experiences and cherished memories.
