RAPF members with Governor Foy

The Governor’s Office has generously come to the aid of the Royal Anguilla Police Force Community Band by providing several pieces of instruments that will serve to enhance the quality of music delivered by the band — as well as improve its performances.
On Thursday morning, July 18th, at the Police Station in Sandy Ground, a handing over ceremony was held during which His Excellency Governor Tim Foy delivered the instruments as a noble, goodwill gesture to the RAPF.

In commenting on the instruments, the Governor noted: “Music is a very important part of life in Anguilla, and the Royal Anguilla Police Force, for many years, has been one of the key organizations that promote music through performances of the community band. What is special about this band is its relationship with the community.

“The Community Band desperately wanted to perform, but they were lacking in the right kind of equipment. So it was our delight to provide that extra ‘oomph’ to support a great group by providing this equipment for the band, so that our community can benefit from their performances and parades.”
Grateful for the appreciable presentation, Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Elliot Forbes, stated: “On behalf of the Commissioner and the Royal Anguilla Police Force Community Band, I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for His Excellency’s contribution of these wonderful instruments to the Community Band.

“We have been struggling over the years to obtain some equipment. We are not blessed financially for this purpose, so I see this as a real rescue mission, and today we are happy and so thankful for these gifts that have come through the Governor’s Office. These instruments will now cause us to move from strength to strength in our performances.”
