After having served as the Resident Minister for the Anguilla District of the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, from November 2013, Pastor Trent Berg has being posted to another district.
He will be serving in Virgin Gorda and Anegada in the British Virgin Islands. He is a native of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, where he ministered for a number of years before his transfer to Anguilla. He has had responsibility for the SDA congregations at Mount Fortune; Jireh Tabernacle at South Hill; Shemi Tabernacle at Long Bay – which was destroyed by Hurricane Irma and is still to be rebuilt; the SDA New Life Company at East End; and he has also had oversight of the Spanish SDA Group.
It was under his leadership that the SDA District Office in the Mason Complex, on the Stoney Ground Road, was established. It also later became the venue for the Adventist Disaster Relief Agency (ADRA) meetings, training sessions and for the distribution of supplies to the community following Hurricane Irma. The District Office also accommodates church leadership meetings; pastoral meetings with schoolchildren and other young people.
Pastor Berg was joined by his wife, Mrs. Delrose Berg, earlier in his Ministry. She has been playing a leading role in the Women’s Ministry of the Church, and recently led the well-supported “EnditNow” Motorcade, and mass community meeting, calling for a stop to violence against women and children in Anguilla.
A Communion Service was held at the Mount Fortune SDA Church, on July 13, in which both Pastor and Mrs. Berg participated as part of their fellowship with members of the congregation. A joint farewell service for all the congregations will be held shortly.
