(July 16, 2019) ANGUILLA – When it’s time to go back to school this year, the children of Anguilla will be well stocked with new school supplies. In an effort to reach as many children as possible on Anguilla, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla, along with guest assistance, is donating oversized “bins” filled with a variety of school supplies to all six primary schools on Anguilla. In previous years, the initiative was focused on “Backpacks & Giveback” benefiting one primary school.
In total, 1400 children will benefit from this new initiative. Guests at the resort will help pack the bins and write notes to wish the students a great school year. Resort guests and employees, and anyone wishing to contribute, may also decide to bring new books to Anguilla or order books via the established School Supply Registry: https://www.myregistry.com/giftlist/fsanguillabacktoschool. Four Seasons employees will give the Books & Bins to the teachers before school commences in September.
The supplies will be delivered to children in kindergarten through Grade 6 at the following schools: Adrian T. Hazell Primary, Alwyn Allison Richardson Primary, Morris Vanterpool Primary, Orealia Kelly Primary, Valley Primary, and Vivien Vanterpool Primary.
Earlier this summer, teachers at all the schools submitted their wish list to Four Seasons for supplies and books. Four Seasons ordered an abundance of supplies including: crayons, #2 pencils, pens, wide-rule notebooks, wall decals, teaching charts, dry erase markers, glue sticks, rulers, index cards, construction paper, and more. Books can be ordered online and the list will remain in place all year to continue to support the schools.
“The Department of Education is appreciative of the contribution of supplies and reading books by Four Seasons,” stated Susan Smith, Education Officer Primary and Pre-primary, Anguilla. “Our primary school students will benefit greatly from the donation of these items.”
“Giving back to the community is important to Four Seasons,” stated Jose Adames, General Manager, Four Seasons Anguilla. “With all our efforts going into books and school supplies this year, we’ll be able to reach more students than ever before. It’s our honor to support the children of Anguilla through education.”
