3rd Place men – Falcons

Falcons, the fearless birds of prey, quickly dispersed their nebulous opponents, Northern Stars, with a score line of 25- 18; 27- 25; 26-24. Setter Calivon Vanterpool was on point with sharing the ball, albeit a heavy portion was allotted to Captain Jason. His blocking and passing were also instrumental in the win. The Northern stars started play with a sound defense as they rebuffed several thunderous Jason Liburd spikes. Eventually the Falcons’ battering, withered the defensive walls and points soon flooded in.
Although the Northern Stars were unable to stop the Falcons’ the team has a good base of players to be true contenders in the next tournament. These young players are Omari Hamilton, Tafari Smith, and Akile Gumbs. They often showed glimmers of skills as they were able to penetrate the Falcons defense and “dig” some of the spikes that came their way.
