The halls of the expansive Blue Ridge Conference Centre at South Hill, overlooking Road Bay, were filled to capacity by senior citizens from across Anguilla including the four caring homes for the Anguilla Day Luncheon.

It was the annual event for the senior citizens paid for by the Government of Anguilla through the Department of Social Development. The focus of the luncheon was not only in terms of the age of the citizens, but also in appreciation of their varied collective patriotic contributions to the life and service of Anguilla.
According to Premier Victor Banks, who addressed the senior citizens, it was upon their shoulders that the new Anguilla is still being built and it is for this reason that a grateful island nation owes them a debt of gratitude.
The Leader of the Opposition, Ms. Palmovan Webster, also addressed the senior citizens and thanked them for the role they played.
The caterers of the sumptuous luncheon were English Rose Restaurant and Ev’s Oven.

The location of the Blue Ridge Conference Centre and its panoramic view of Road Bay, afforded the diners an opportunity to see the returning racing boats and their final and famous “hard lee” tacking as they raced back to the shore.
