SECURITY TRAINING FOR HEALTH AUTHORITY STAFF

JNH Professional Training Institute, in collaboration with the Health Authority of Anguilla, conducted a Security Training Course for eleven Staff members at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The officers attending the course worked in different areas of the Security Department including the Psychiatric Unit, Amor Guard Security and Patrol Services.
The training was conducted twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the JNH Professional Institute in the Mason Complex, Stoney Ground. The Training commenced with an opening ceremony during which a preview of the course was presented by Mr. Neville Hamilton. Mr. Malcolm Webster, Facilities Director at the Health Authority, responded and acknowledged that though the training was long in coming, Management was grateful that it was finally conducted.

Trainees and facilitators

The training was focused on several different areas that will improved the performance of the officers during their daily routine. The topics presented were;
– General Aspects of Security
– Report Writing (Theoretical & Practical)
– Resolving Conflict
– Role Conflict
– Customer Service
– Communication
– Drugs and their Effects
– Evidence Handling
– Statement Writing (Theoretical & Practical)
– Confidentiality
– Professional Conduct
– Making Entries
– Local Knowledge
– Searches
– Radio Communication
– Disciplinary Procedures
The hospital employees welcomed the training and participated fully by attending the sessions punctually, presenting their assignments and sharing their experiences during the discussions.
JNH Professional Training Institute extends its appreciation to the Management of the Health Authority of Anguilla for the opportunity to serve the organization and looks forward to continually working with the health services.
The institute extends its gratitude to the resource personnel who took the time to deliver the various topics and to the trainees for their patience throughout the training, and those persons who contributed to making the experience what it was.
