The Connor family thanks God and the entire “village” that nurtured Sabrina in Anguilla and abroad – family, friends, neighbours, teachers, tutors, leaders, coaches, trainers and mentors. For the full athletic (tennis) scholarship that paved Sabrina’s way to Virginia Union University and for the athletic and academic scholarships that carried her seamlessly through her undergraduate years, the family wishes to thank all that played a critical role:
? Virginia Union University – Trustees, alumni, faculty, staff, partners and sponsors – for academic scholarships. Head Women’s Tennis Coach Guy Walton for choosing Sabrina to lead the Lady Panthers and for athletic scholarships.
? Anguilla Tennis Academy – Founder Mitchelle Lake, the Lake family, coaches, and staff – for developing Sabrina’s passion for tennis and her skills on and off court since she was the age of four; also, and in partnership with
? T Bar M Racquet Club (Dallas, Texas) – Athletic Director Christopher Wade, the Wade family, coaches, and staff – for providing high performance training, for navigating Sabrina through the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) scouting process, and for directing Sabrina to VUU and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
The coordinated and sustained efforts of these persons and many others made the Connor family’s dreams of Sabrina’s higher education a reality.
This summer Sabrina will remain in Virginia to undertake her position as Corporate and Crisis Communications Intern with Padilla, a media and communications company located in Richmond, specializing in public relations and marketing. As she explores her career options, she keeps her sights on graduate school to further her education and training someday.
