On Friday May 24, 2019, Omololu celebrated cultures across the world with the theme ‘It’s a Multicultural World’. It was a spectacular family event. Students paraded around the corridors wearing vibrant colors of varied national costumes. This was followed by singing, dancing and various other expressive art forms portraying the uniqueness of each country represented. As we celebrated and embraced our differences, we were simultaneously educated about each country’s customs, cultures and practices, one of the cornerstone philosophies of our International Baccalaureate (IB) school.
At OIS we embrace diversity. We believe the world is a ‘melting pot’ of blended cultures effortlessly fused together making for a meaningful life. We promote tolerance, respect for life and one’s rights, and we believe it is our duty to be patriotic as a service to this nation. We guide our students in discovering and shaping their identity in this multicultural world.
Having culminated this year’s OIS Culture Day, we look forward to joining in the jollification of our upcoming Anguilla Day Celebrations.
Like Mahatma Ghandi, we believe that “Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilisation.”
Omololu International School embraces a holistic and experiential approach to learning about our world, equipping students with meaningful understanding and skill sets to lead successful lives – and to make a positive contribution to society.
