A number of employees at Resorts and Residences by CuisinArt have been praised and awarded for their outstanding performance during the current tourism season.
Compliments and words of gratitude were extended to them by the President/ Managing of the company, Mr. Stephane Zaharia who, along with the Director of Human Resources, Ms. Carleen Gumbs, hosted the grand event on Tuesday afternoon, June 11. It was held in the resort’s attractively crafted Ball Room of which Mr. Zaharia said there was none like it in Anguilla.
“We wanted to have a meeting space for groups when they come in,” he stated. “Nobody on the island right now has a space like this. We wanted to make sure that we have a space for groups for their seminars and meetings and that, so far, has worked very well for us.” He added that it was a challenging year for the property, and he was pleased that everyone had worked hard towards the accomplishment of the goals and achievements of the resort.
The awardees for the first and second quarters of the season were listed in the well-designed and decorated programme leaflets prepared by the Human Resources Department.
Following were the awards – regular winners: a framed certificate; a gift from the Boutique; dinner for two at either of the resort’s restaurants; and a cheque for 100 US dollars. Team Leaders of the Quarter. a plaque, spa treatment; dinner for two and a cheque for US$200. Supervisors of the Quarter: a plaque; a spa treatment; dinner for two and US $200. Manager of the Quarter: a plaque; one-night stay and lunch for two at Oyster Bay Beach Resort in St. Maarten; and US$250. Most recognised employees by guests received a framed certificate and US$50. Nominees were the recipients of a framed certificate and a gift from the Boutique.
The winners for the First Quarter from November 2018 to January 2019 were: Patricia Hazel, Spa; Jaymisha Mercer, Human Resources; Kendra Edwards, Spa; Nadia Gumbs, Culinary; Regiscia Graham, Food & Beverage; Steven Austin, Landscaping; Team Leader of the Quarter, Myris Jeffers, Food & Beverage; Supervisor of the Quarter, Lester Gumbs, Culinary; Manager of the Quarter, Keresha Webster, Front Office; and the Most Recognised Employees by Guests were: Samaro Richardson and Derrick Connor.
The winners for the Second Quarter February to April 2019 were: Isa Ruan, Spa; Shaun Richardson, Stewarding; Shermeka Richardson, Front Office; Starrette Webster, Landscaping; Ernice Joseph-Reid, Laundry. Most recognized employees by guests were: Samaro Richardson and Fran Baker. Team Leader of the Quarter was Bill Hughes, Engineering; Jasmattie Onkar, Housekeeping; and Ruth Carty, Spa.
Meanwhile, there was one winner in the Biggest Loser Weight Challenge – held by the resort as part of its body and soul wellbeing competition. There were some 40 participants but only four employees endured to the end of the competition. The winner was Joban Maynard who received US$500; and the first runner-up was Maria Prince.
