The Combined Services Building, at the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport, which is providing accommodation for the new Fire Hall and the Air Traffic Control Tower, is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of July.
In the meantime, the paving of driveways and other parts of the premises is ongoing. The area was visited on Tuesday, June 4, by the Acting Premier, Mr. Curtis Richardson, whose substantive appointment is Minister of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities, Housing Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment.
“It is a lovely building,” Mr. Richardson remarked, noting its significance and support facilities to the planned expansion of the airport.
The Combined Services Building was built by Orchard Romney Beck & Associates Inc. and was financed mainly by the UK Government and part funded by the Government of Anguilla.
It will have one of the largest courtyards of almost all the public sector buildings on the island. With the finishing work in progress, it will be the venue for the observance of the Queen’s Official Birthday on Thursday evening, June 6.
