The Anguilla Cricket Association (ACA) wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Paulivar Rogers who passed away on Saturday April 20th, 2019.
Mr. Paulivar Rogers, who resided in the village of The Farrington, was a former National Cricketer. He represented the Anguilla National Cricket Team across all formats of the game played during his time as an active player. He also represented the Leeward Islands at the youth level.
Paulivar’s contribution to Anguilla cricket spans a period of over 35 years, and he was an integral part of the national cricketing programmes in Anguilla. He played significant roles in the teams that he was a part of at the local, national and sub-regional level. He was truly a stalwart of Anguilla cricket, who contributed through playing, coaching, being a curator of the grounds for first class matches, and commentator during local and first class matches played in Anguilla. He was a dedicated, committed, skillful and knowledgeable player of the game of cricket.
Mr. Rogers was a formidable force at home and throughout the sub-region as he demonstrated his skills and knowledge of the game on and off the field. This earned him the respect of many of his competitors locally and throughout the Leeward Islands. Anguilla and Anguilla cricket have lost a true ambassador of the game.
On behalf of the President and members of the Anguilla Cricket Association (ACA), we wish to express our sincere condolences to the family, friends and all who would miss Paulivar Rogers. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time and we pray that God’s grace will comfort you in this time of bereavement.
