NEW PRESIDENT INDUCTED FOR SOROPTIMIST CLUB

At the Annual General Meeting of the Soroptimist Club Ursil Webster-Brooks was installed as the new President of the Club by Past President Anita Brooks. The new president thanked members for electing her and urged them to continue to work as a team and to find meaningful projects in the community. She thanked the outgoing president for her hard work during the difficult times.

Anita thanked members for their support and in particular the work of the secretary Angelina Carty. She stressed the importance of working together.

Secretary Angelina Carty reported some of the events during the past year. She said that the same executive from 2017 had continued to function. She said that new members are needed as there are less active members at this time. She said that the Soroptimist International Caribbean Network (SICN) meeting scheduled to be held in Anguilla in August has been postponed to August 2020 and the meeting this year will take place in Barbados.

Treasurer Blondell Rodgiers reported on the financial position of the club and outstanding bills. She reported on the grant from the Social Security Board of US$12,500 that has assisted with the repairs to the centre.

The new Executive Committee is President Ursil Webster-Brooks, Past President Anita Brooks, President Elect Yolande Hodge-Richardson, Secretary, Angelina Carty, Treasurer Anita Brooks, Vice president and membership Pamela Connor, Programme Action Angelina Carty, and members Laverne Hoyoung, Patricia Gumbs, Dawn Hodge and Hyacinth Bradley.
