All Digicel team members took a step out of their regular office work and attire to take on a staff activity day.
As a part of Digicel’s End of Financial Year celebrations, the management team hosted a staff retreat day dubbed ‘Journey of Change’. The company closed for one day to host this fun filled activity day in total surprise to their staff members.
The team was split up evenly into groups and given instructions, transportation and backpacks to start their day off with an Anguillian Culture treasure hunt. This strategic hunt executed by Eldon Webster, gave Digicel team members insight on Anguilla’s historical locations like the first salt pond located in Sandy Hill, Windward point and many more historical locations.
Each of the 3 teams had various means of transport giving the staff thrill and excitement through-out the day. The Dominators, Enforcers and Transformers (Groups), graced the streets of Anguilla from West to East with 4 wheelers, Mokes and Wranglers used for the duration of the treasure hunt until they reached their final location.
At Junks hole, the team’s final stop, the staff believed they had completed the day with what seemed to be a thrilling treasure hunt however, the news they received from organizing managers was that their day had only just begun. There was a setup of an obstacle course lead by Coach Nigel Linton with a series of exhilarating games for each team to accumulate points for a chance to win and be dubbed the Journey of Change Champions.
Prior to the activity course, the team enjoyed and indulged in food and drinks catered by Palm Grove of Junks Hole, alongside the sounds provided by their ambassador deejay, DJ STYLEZ.
The main goal of the ‘Journey of Change’ activity was for members of staff to focus on the physical representation of the culture change process taking place within the organization regionally.
