The Anguilla Literary Foundation is delighted to present their second annual literary salon style fundraising event, ‘An Evening with Alafair Burke,’ at Cuisinart Golf Resort & Spa on Sunday 17th March 2019 from 6.00 until 8.00pm.
President of the Foundation, Sherille Hughes says ‘This special event will give a taste of what is on offer at our LitFest to those curious about experiencing it or impatient for the event in May! Guests will enjoy presentations by New York Times Best Selling Author Alafair Burke as well as short performances from local talent. The event will be hosted by Dan Weiss. Afterwards, guests will enjoy fines wines from Les Grands Vins De France and hors d’oeuvres from the talented culinary team at CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa, in a sophisticated yet relaxed setting.”
Last year’s, sell out event featured author Dan Brown, and the organizing committee are sure this year’s event, will be equally enjoyable. All monies raised go to fund the Lit Fest’s educational initiative “Champions Pursuit of Literacy” which has inspired over 1,000 young Anguillian writers and their teachers, revitalized the Island’s Literary Arts scene and established lasting ties between Anguilla, the delegates and the leading literary figures and entities who participate over the years.
Alafair, who is a regular visitor to Anguilla, is a New York Times bestselling author whose most recent novels include The Wife, under production for a feature film, and The Ex, which was nominated for the Edgar Award for best novel. Her next novel THE BETTER SISTER comes out in April 2019. She also co-authors the bestselling Under Suspicion series with Mary Higgins Clark. A former prosecutor, she now teaches Criminal Law and lives in Manhattan and East Hampton. Her books will be for sale at the event and there will be an opportunity to have copies signed.
Limited tickets are now available at $60 per person and include hors d’oeuvres and selected wines and can be purchased at Les Grands Vins Des France, Paradise Cove or The Anguilla Library Service or you can reserve by calling 476 8783 or emailing info@anguillalitfest.com
