On Sunday, 10 March, the Gender Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Social Development ended a successful week recognizing “Women of Faith, Hope and Love” by joining in the powerful worship experience at Kingdom Gospel Global Outreach Ministries (KGGOM) under the leadership of Bishop Bernard and Linda Joseph.
The service began with an awesome prayer of gratitude for life and the ability to celebrate another day. The music ministry created the atmosphere for the Spirit of God to move and almost immediate deep worship, joy and community commenced. Bishop Bernard welcomed supporters of the Gender Affairs Unit and expressed gratitude for KGGOM being selected to end such a dynamic week of strengthening a woman’s resolve.
Shortly after, Gender Development Coordinator, Dr. Ronya Foy Connor, gave a recap of the influential events taking place throughout the week. She then thanked the sponsors of the activities for Women’s Week and made a special note to thank her husband and son for their support through her late nights and early mornings of planning and implementation.
The church was then treated to a special song by visitors Ms. Crismery Romney and company. They sang in both English and Spanish; confirming that the empowerment of women in faith, hope and love has no language or ethnic barrier. As the group concluded, Bishop Bernard emphatically welcomed, Evangelist Ermine Phillips, an esteemed guest from St. Maarten to deliver the message.
Evangelist Phillips serves in various departments including Women’s Ministry Director for the New Testament Church of God in Dutch St. Maarten, under the leadership of Bishop Ronald and Doreth Blake. She was especially invited to give practical and persuasive insight into why maintaining faith, hope and love is essential for a full and glorifying life. Evangelist Phillips commanded the church, through the Word of God, to never lose faith, to hope no matter what circumstances life presents, and to always love one another and ourselves with the love of Christ.
The Kingdom Gospel Global Outreach Ministries also launched their benevolent fund. Bishop Bernard and Linda Joseph explained that, as a result of the lessons learned during and after the passage of Hurricane Irma, they needed to have a facility in place to help single women and widows. The end of Women’s Week now marks the beginning of this fund to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable in times of disaster, sickness, death and emergency. The pastors look forward to working hand in hand with like-minded community entities to advance the cause of Christ.
