ASHLEY BROOKS 25th ANNIVERSARY CYCLING RACE

On Sunday 3rd March 2019 at about 2:30 pm at Ashley and Sons Ltd in collaboration with the Cycling Association as part of the Ashley Brooks 25th Anniversary for the Ashley Brooks Road Race held several categories a bicycle races at the Ashley and Sons Supermarket in Blowing Point.

The race started and finish just in front of the Supermarket at Blowing Point. The route of race travelled from blowing point up to the stop light at Easy Corner turn right to the stop light at George Hill / Statia Valley junction turn right to the Jerimiah Gumbs Highway back to Ashley Supermarket Blowing Point. All the races started together except the Pouisson Category who did two laps from the Supermarket to the Corner at Spanner.

The raced lasted for about one hour and forty five minutes (1hr 45min.) about thirty three point eight miles (33.8mls) five laps around the circuit listed above.

The categories entered and results are

1. Elite – 1st place – Sherwin Osbourne
2nd place – Vinesh Narine

2. Masters – 1st Place – Patrick Niles

3. Novice Category – 1st Place – Calvert Junie Fleming

4. Juniors – Mr. James Morris

5. Cadets – Mr. Deanthony Niles

6. Minimes – 1st place – Hector Rogers
2nd place – Kaylon Bryan
7. Benjamines – Sharvin Narine

8. Pouisson – 1st place – Kaylon Bryan
2nd place – Arvin Narine

Ashley and Sons Ltd would like to extend their gratitude to the Cycling Association for their participation, to the Police for their assistance with the traffic and leading of the race and to the general public for cheering on the riders during the race and for their cooperation and to all those who assisted in one way or the other.

This bicycle race will be held annually from now on. It will form part of Ashley and Sons way of giving back to the Anguillan Community.
