The Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport in Anguilla, which is continuing to attract a growing number of private executive jets from various parts of the United States and further afield, has again welcomed a flying club of some fifteen Cessna-type planes.
The single-engine and colourful aircraft, which flew in from Miami, Florida, occupied the parking ramp off the middle section of the runway over the past several days, before beginning to leave Anguilla on Sunday, January 27.
The visit of the light aircraft flying club was handled by Lloyd’s Aviation Services which also oversees the operations of the executive jets regularly visiting the island.
“The flight to Anguilla is something the flying group does every year, travelling to different Caribbean islands,” a spokesman for Lloyd’s Aviation Services told The Anguillian newspaper. “This year, they again chose Anguilla as well as other regional islands. Most of the fifteen planes, which are of the TBN 900 series, and their pilots, were in Anguilla for the first time.”
The pilots, who were guests at Zemi Beach resort at Shoal Bay, were engaged in a number of social events including tours of the island – and they took the opportunity to sample a number of restaurants.
