Commissioner of Police, Mr. Paul Morrison, and representative from the National Crime Agency / Child Exploitation Online Protection (NCA CEOP), on Monday 28th January 2019, signed a memorandum of understanding creating a framework by which support funding can be made easily and readily available to tackle issues of child exploitation and domestic violence through training and empowerment. The signing was done by NCA CEOP representative Detective Chief Inspector Lydia Devanport, and Mr. Paul Morrison QPM Commissioner of the RAPF.
At the signing ceremony, Chief Inspector Davenport stated that her office is pleased to continue its support and work closely with the RAPF and the progress it has made thus far. Commissioner Morrison stated that CEOP came to Anguilla in 2016 and has made a significant contribution to the training of the safeguarding unit, its detectives and frontline officers. The support has included the new forensic exhibit lab in 2017, as well as multi-agency collaboration improvements.
Commissioner Morrison further stated that this memorandum of understanding cements a relationship that has existed between both parties.
