The Governor is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ralph Hodge, MBE and Ms Tara Carter as Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Anguilla Financial Services Commission respectively.
Mr. Ralph Hodge, MBE, originally appointed as Deputy Chairman on 1 February 2004 and subsequently reappointed multiple times, has been acting Chairman since the expiry on 29 March 2018 of the term of appointment of Mrs. Helen Hatton, the former Chairman of the Board. He holds a degree in Management Studies (Hons) with an accounting BIAS from the University of the West Indies, Mona (Jamaica) campus. He was a member of the Anguilla Public Service from February 1966 to July 2003, thirty-one years of which were spent in the Ministry of Finance in a number of roles which culminated in his role as Permanent Secretary Health, Social Development and Sports. Mr Hodge also served as a Director of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank. Mr Hodge was also Chairman of the Anguilla Economic Advisory Committee and has acted on several occasions as Deputy Governor of Anguilla.
Ms Tara Carter is the principal of Carter & Associates. She was first appointed as a member of the Board on 1 August 2008 and served until 31 July 2015. She was appointed again for a term of three years commencing 1 August 2018. Ms Carter obtained an LLB at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Prior to that, she studied two years of Business Administration at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. From 2005 to 2006 she was employed with Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP in Manitoba and admitted to the Law Society of Manitoba in 2005. In 2006 she obtained the Legal Education Certificate at the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad. She has been admitted to the Bars of: Manitoba, Anguilla, Antigua, British Virgin Islands, Dominica and St. Kitts & Nevis.
The Commission’s Board of Directors has also recently welcomed two new Board Members; Mr Erville Hughes and Ms Yvette Wallace who have joined Mr Hodge, Ms Carter and Dr. Delroy Louden.
The Governor would like to thank Mr Hodge and Ms Carter for their service to the FSC and to Anguilla’s financial sector since 2004 and 2008 respectively, and warmly welcomes Mr Hughes and Ms Wallace to the Board.
