The Hats & Heels Foundation, in partnership with the Gender Affairs Unit, Ministry of Social Development, hosted Domestic Violence (DV) Hotline training for interested hotline volunteers on 12th and 13th February. The two-day session was led by the Executive Director of Gender Affairs in Antigua & Barbuda, Ms. Farmala Jacobs. Over 20 people attended to learn about working with Anguilla’s first official DV Hotline – and what services will be in place to assist survivors of abuse and violent situations.
The Hats & Heels Foundation, established by Jade Reymond-Richardson and Vyonne Brooks, will be raising funds to support the Hotline through the upcoming “Hats & Heels” brunch on 3rd March at 11:30 am at the CuisinArt ballroom. The event will open the Gender Affairs Unit’s Women’s Week 2019 events from 3rd – 10th March under the theme “Women of Faith, Hope and Love.”
