Grand Outlook Castle at Crocus Hill, Anguilla

The owners of Grand Outlook Castle on Crocus Hill, Anguilla, Elsie and Paul Alegria, have announced that their property has been awarded the distinction of number 1 Guest Rated Villa in the Caribbean for 2018 by VRBO.

VRBO stands for Vacation Rental by Owner. According to its website, “the company has been diligent about building its brand. It has become known as one of the best ‘go to sites’ for aspiring hosts wanting to list their property. It works equally as well for travelers who want to check out rentals for their vacation accommodation.”

The 3-million US-dollar villa, built on half an acre of land, has just about all the features of a modern-day castle. It not only provides sweeping coastal and ocean views of Anguilla, from the highest point on the island, but the mountain peaks of a number of neighbouring islands as well.

It has four master bedroom suites, outdoor and indoor showers with private wings and patios on two floors. Other features include a communal area where all of the guests can congregate on occasions. The property was designed to accommodate eight persons or four couples.

The villa was one of the first tourism properties to reopen shortly after Hurricane Irma, and to accommodate visitors from the United States who had called to verify that all was in order for their arrival.

Commenting on the quick reopening of Grand Outlook Castle, Mr. Alegria stated shortly after the hurricane in September 2017: “We can’t be in a mourning process. The island needs to move forward.” He went on: “We are not going to mourn over a broken door after the hurricane, but will fix it. We will bring people back to the island and try to get them to bring other people so that whatever villas or resorts are open they would go to them, and spend their money in the restaurants, giving Anguilla hope again. I am sure that once this message gets out, people will come to Anguilla for Christmas and the New Year.”

The first guests arrived in Anguilla on October 15, 2017 and remained in Anguilla for two weeks and, according to Mr. and Mrs. Alegria, the guests, “Heidi and Andy, gave Anguilla and the Grand Outlook Castle a full and thorough 5-star review.” The owners of the luxury villa added: “Anguilla and the Grand Outlook Castle received 6 additional 5-star guest reviews which bring our mutual total to 138…for the ranking as the #1 Guest Rated Island & Villa in all of the Caribbean.”
