Dear members of the Chamber:
The Christmas season is upon us. It is a time of the year when friends and family gather together. It is a time of the year when there should be an outpouring of love, a desire to share and to consider those less fortunate.
We, the Directors of the Chamber would like to wish the entire Anguillian community, a peaceful, happy and joyous yuletide season.
The year 2018 was a year of new beginnings. We welcome the new Belmond Cap Juluca, the newly renovated properties such as Cuisinart Golf Resort & Spa, Four Seasons Resort, Auberge Malliouhana and Zemi Beach House Resort & Spa. Let us not forget our smaller properties such as Carimar, Frangipani, Shoal Bay Villas, La Vue and Paradise Cove. You are valuable to our economy and have shown resilience in an effort to restore business after the passing of hurricane Irma in 2017. We would like to say a resounding thank you for rebuilding and renovating in a timely manner.
The tourism season looks promising and we, the Directors of the Chamber, are very optimistic that this season will enhance our economy and create growth opportunities. This will benefit our local hotel workers, who have been unemployed for the last year, by providing continuous work.
The ever-present battle to attract new members to the Chamber remains one of the keys to the future success of the Chamber, and one which I strongly encourage our Board to devote a lot of energy and drive to in 2019. Members are the reason we exist and it is critical that we are relevant for their business if we are to hold our place in Anguilla.
2019 presents the Chamber with a new beginning as well. We face some challenges ahead, but we intend to tackle them head on.
We thank you for being a member of the Chamber and look forward to your continued support, during the year 2019, as the Chamber forges ahead to enhance the business community through its business services and forums – to create an awareness of issues affecting the economy and to provide solutions to business challenges.
I take this opportunity to thank the dedicated members of the Board who, despite being extremely busy themselves, continue to volunteer their time and efforts to the Chamber for the benefit of the Anguillian business community and the development and promotion of this amazing nation.
On behalf of the Chamber, I would like to wish all our members and partners a great holiday season and hope that the lead up to Christmas is a strong trading period for you all. We look forward to continuing our work with you in 2019.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to one and all.
