Hit Your 2nd Shot Baseball youth club is a local non-profit organization, registered with the Financial Services Commission. The organization was established this year (2018) by a group of young adults – namely Vynicee Brooks, President; Kimberly Proctor, Vice President and Mariela Lico- Jean, Public Relations Officer – who share the same concerns for the youths of our nation.

As we hear the cry of many parents on the island for our young men, we have decided to focus on baseball as our first project. At this present time we have one young man by the name of Tyrese Webster in the Dominican Republic undergoing professional baseball training. We also have 16 young men between the ages of 12 and 16 years who are in training sessions everyday at the Coronation Ball Field from Monday – Friday, 4 pm – 6 pm.

Mr. Webster has begun to pave the way for many more young men like Tyrese Webster. He has decided to play an active role in changing the outcome of his life. He realized that Tyrese was the only one that could change his life – that it was no one else’s task. Tyrese is now pushing hard and working diligently towards his goal of becoming a professional baseball player.

Our Organization is making progress and we have made tremendous strides since we started in September, but these achievements did not come without many setbacks and disappointments. However, we are grateful to those we have assisted us thus far. We thank the following for their assistance and sponsorship: Department of Sports, Leviticus Lifestyles, Dj Hammer, Four Seasons Resort, Shellya Rogers- Webster, Lee Brooks (Ashley and Sons), JG Travels, Sky High Airlines and Extreme Fitness. We would like to thank those individuals who donated funds and helped in any way they could.

Some of our short-term and long terms goals are to procure land for the erection of a baseball field, purchase playing equipment, training attire and the campers and a van to transport the campers.

Again we thank the general public for their support and we welcome any future assistance. For more information about Hit your 2nd Shot 1st, please contact Vynicee @ 264-584-4632, Kimberly @ 264-584-8144 or Mariela @264- 581-0494.
