The members of the newly elected Executive Body of the Anguilla National Youth Council (ANYC) attended a training retreat from Friday, 26th October, 2018 – Sunday, 28th October, 2018, in St. Maarten. The training retreat was a collaboration between the ANYC, the Department of Youth and Culture and the St.Maarten National Youth Council. The training was facilitated by the Director of Youth and Culture, Mr. Bren Romney, Senior Programme Officer – Ms. Joleyne Robin, and Consultant – Mr. John ‘Christopher’ Richardson of Rich Pearl Global Training & Coaching Consulting.
The weekend training retreat focused on orientation and training of the executive body, the study and roles of Youth Councils, the roles and responsibilities of the executive members, project development and networking. As part of the retreat, the team also met with the Director (Ag.) of the St. Maarten Youth Division, Mrs. Elmora Pantophlet-Aventurin, where possible collaborations between both Councils and youth departments were explored. A case study of the St. Maarten National Youth Council was also shared by the Director, Mrs. Connie Francis.
The newly elected Executive Board are members of existing youth organisations on Anguilla. They will manage the affairs of the Council for the period September 2018 – September 2020.
