Six (6) of the twenty-one (21) 2018 Graduates of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Anguilla were in St. Lucia last week for the UWI Open Campus’ 10th Presentation of Graduates Ceremony on Saturday, 13th October.
UWI STAT Ambassador, Ms. Kemoloy Murphy, was on hand to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Management studies, while Ms. Vanisha Proctor and Mr. Trevor Queeley received their Bachelor of Science degrees in Management Studies with First Class Honours. Mrs. Meredith Connor was awarded a Master of Science degree in Instructional Design and Technology and Ms. Shirba Hughes accepted her Master of Science degree in Management Studies. Ms. Marcia Brooks, who already holds a Master of Education Degree, received a second Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Management with distinction.
The ceremony in celebration of the seven hundred and three (703) Graduates of the Open Campus was presided over by Chancellor, Mr. Robert Bermudez. It was witnessed by a number of regional Government and University officials including the Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellors, as well as the family and friends of the Graduates. Also in attendance in support of the local Graduates, was the UWI Open Campus British Overseas Territories Manager, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks.
During the Ceremony, the University also conferred Honorary Doctorate of Laws degrees on the Honourable Dame Janice Mesadis Pereira, DBE, of the British Virgin Islands, and Mr. Larry Quinlan of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The UWI 2018 Graduation Ceremonies continue this Saturday, 20th October, at the Cave Hill Campus in Barbados, when two more local Graduates, Linette Carty and Angelene Henry will be in attendance.
