Twenty-one (21) students from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Anguilla are amongst the seven hundred and three (703) Graduands slated for official graduation at the Open Campus 2018 Presentation of Graduates Ceremony on Saturday, 13th October in St. Lucia.
Twelve (12) of the twenty-one (21) Graduands: Vonlee Harris, Giovanni Francisca, Shirba Hughes, Ann Margarette Watty, Angelene Benn Henry, Colvette Coley, Kebrina Bailey, Marcia Brooks, Sabrina Darr, Tricia Richardson, Meredith Connor and Gloria Butcher will receive their Masters degrees in Management Studies, Educational Leadership, Literacy Instruction, and Instructional Design and Technology.
Vanisha Proctor, Linette Carty, Trevor Queeley, Verrerlyne Bruno Mason, Kemoloy Murphy, Sandra D. Richardson, Rozell Hennis-Richardson, Hamewatie Narine and Alina Richardson-Davis, will receive undergraduate degrees in Management/Business Studies, Human Resource Management, Educational Leadership and Management and Youth Development Work.
Four of the Masters Graduands will receive distinctions, while three Management Studies Students will graduate with First Class Honours. The local Graduands were congratulated and toasted by the Staff of the UWI Open Campus Anguilla at a special Pre-Graduation Ceremony on Friday, 5th October.
Six (6) of them will be travelling to St. Lucia with friends and family members for the formal Graduation exercise. Also in attendance in support of the Graduands will be Manager for the UWI British Overseas Territories, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks.
The official ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be preceded by the Graduands, Academic and Chancellor’s processions. The general public is invited to share in the grand occasion via live online streaming on via live online streaming on UWItv at www.uwitv.org.
During the Ceremony, the University will also confer Honorary Doctorate of Laws degrees on the Honourable Dame Janice Mesadis Pereira DBE from the British Virgin Islands, for her service to the legal profession and Mr. Larry Quinlan from St. Kitts and Nevis for his influence and work in leadership at the global level.
After the official Presentation Ceremony, the new graduates and their guests will celebrate their academic achievements at an Official Reception hosted by the Government and people of Saint Lucia.
