THE VALLEY, Anguilla – October 1, 2018 – Anguilla’s leading cyclist and 2018 John T. Memorial Cycling Race winner, Mr. Hasani Hennis, departed Anguilla on October 2 for Tobago where he will participate in the 2018 Tobago Cycling Classics, from October 3-7.
The Tobago Cycling Classics is an annual 5 stage race and sees great performances from top cyclists around the world. Some of the participating countries are Germany, Colombia, Venezuela, Switzerland, Cuba, USA, United Kingdom and France.
Hasani’s participation at this event was made possible with the kind assistance of Director of Sports, Mr. Andre Collins, who laid the groundwork to have him registered with Heat Wave Cycling Club, one of the top cycling clubs for the event. It will be Hasani’s first time at this event. He will return home on October 8, 2018.
A few days later, cycling continues for Anguilla’s cycling star as he is set to participate in the 2018 Elite Caribbean Cycling Championships (CCC) in the Dominican Republic from October 13-14. Hasani will be Anguilla’s only representative and will come up against competitors from other Caribbean countries such as St. Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Belize, Guyana, Suriname, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Aruba, Curacao, Dominica, St. Martin, Grenada, Bermuda and host country Dominican Republic.
Hasani will depart the island for the Dominican Republic on Thursday, October 11, and will return on Monday, October 15.
Hasani’s performance over the last few months has been exceptional, and the Anguilla Cycling Association has no doubt that it will continue.
