TENTH SAFETY FAIR FEATURES 17 BOOTHS

With the 2018 hurricane season now upon us, the Agricultural Department’s grounds were a scene of much activity on Friday, June 22, when the 10th Annual All Hazard Risk Reduction & Safety Fair was held there. The event featured an array of booths with varied displays and services.

The exhibiting booths were manned by the Departments of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Nutrition & Health Promotion; Health Protection; Disaster Management and Agriculture; the Anguilla Electricity Company; the Anguilla Amateur Radio Society; the UWI OHS Students; Anguilla Air & Sea Ports Authority; Anguilla Fire & Rescue Services; the Anguilla Red Cross; Four Seasons Hotel & Residencies Anguilla; Caribbean Eye Care; the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities and Housing (MICUH); AMPSS; Sol Ltd; and Delta Petroleum.
The event included welcome remarks by Mr. Karim Hodge, Permanent Secretary (MICUH); safety messages from the Departments of Nutrition & Health Promotion and Risk Reduction; and the keynote address by ANGLEC’s Acting General Manager, Mr. Steve Hodge, who declared open the Safety Fair. There were also demonstrations by the Anguilla Fire & Rescue Services and ANGLEC.

The theme of the five-hour Safety Fair was: “Ensuring Safe and Healthy Working Environments.”
