A Nevisian-born Minister, now retired, but considerably active in teaching last-day prophecies, is in Anguilla conducting a series of meetings, dubbed “The Great Prophetic Revival”, at the Mount Fortune Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He is International Evangelist, Roosevelt Daniel, who is offering “hope through prophecy”. The St. Croix-based influential speaker is inviting all persons in Anguilla to “discover how Bible Prophecy reveals the future and brings hope for today”. The prophetic revival began on Saturday, July 7and will continue until the end of the month.
The visiting speaker, who is carrying out his mission in close cooperation with the Anguilla District Minister, Pastor Trent Berg, told The Anguillian:
“I am more of a teacher than anything else. When I was very young, people recognised me as a good teacher. That’s how the students thought about me and I just brought it over into evangelism. Never have I been a great preacher, but God made me a teacher. You see, an individual cannot make a decision intelligently over an issue he doesn’t understand, and a teacher helps him to understand so that he can make intelligent decisions.”
He continued: “I was an educator in Nevis. I studied with an assistant teacher at one of the schools where I taught, and when she accepted the Message she was baptised. The next day, when I went back to school, I wanted to be a full-time soul winner. I was restless and I left teaching and went to St. Croix to work for money to get into the Caribbean Union College (now the University of the Southern Caribbean in Trinidad). It is there that our higher learning institute in the region is based.
“That is how I got into it – a soul winner and historian for God. I became the Evangelist for the North Caribbean Conference and then for the whole Caribbean. I was a district Pastor for nine years and a fulltime Evangelist for 27 years. I spent 36 years in the Ministry before I retired on September 30, 2012.”
He has been in Anguilla several times to conduct evangelistic crusades. Commenting on his present mission, he stated: “It is to establish the brethren in the faith – that’s all: that they may not move. If anyone who does not know about this Message and come here consistently, that person would learn of it.
“The Message is about prophecy. We have also a more sure word of prophecy. God is telling us what is going to happen in His plan of salvation – all about what Jesus was going to do and then what is going to happen when He comes again. That is what it all is about: how this world is going to end. The nations that played a role in the plan of salvation are: Babylon, Media, Persia, Greece, Rome and Europe.”
The retired Evangelist is taking the opportunity of his mission to give detailed information about the prophecies involving those nations, and what the prophecies signify down through the corridors of time to today.
Commenting on the prophetic revival, Pastor Berg said: “Whenever we have the privilege of having one of our well-known Ministers come and share this wonderful teaching with us, it has often refreshed and revived the Church. That is what the revival is for: to bring about a transformation in the hearts and lives of our members. But we didn’t want to keep it to ourselves. This is wonderful so we wanted to share it with others and that’s why we extended an invitation to our community.
“Many of our friends have attended our evangelistic meetings that we had under the tent but, because of circumstances in our community, it wasn’t possible this year. We want to invite them to come here at the Church and we are reminding others to make an effort to come out. We have services nightly, and then on Saturday morning at the 10.30, but we will be off on Monday and Thursday evenings.”
