The Health Authority of Anguilla is pleased to announce that a modern and fully equipped Incubator will soon be put into service at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
This new state of the art Neonatal Transport Incubator was donated by the proprietors of Health Care Logistics in the USA, Gary and Connie Sharpe (Friends of Anguilla), following contact by the Hon Evans McNiel Rogers, Minister of Health. Mr & Mrs Sharpe have contributed to many other initiatives including the Blood Bank and the CT Scan.
The Incubator is designed to maintain infants in ideal environmental conditions needed to thrive while being observed and cared for. The new incubator can also be configured with ventilation and oxygen analyzers to meet the specific needs of each infant. Additionally, the incubator is self-contained and can be utilised for transporting infants overseas in the event that more specialized care is needed.
This vital piece of equipment will assist the Health Authority to provide an improved service to its clients in the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that is currently being commissioned.
Mrs. Maeza Demis-Adams, Chief Executive Officer, has expressed sincerest gratitude to the proprietors of Health Care Logistics for this generous donation. A formal ceremony for the commissioning of the Incubator will be held in the near future.
