The UWI Open Campus Anguilla will end the 2017/2018 academic year with its annual Certificate Presentation Ceremony for the Participants in its local Continuing and Professional Education Programmes on Thursday, 26th July 2018. The Ceremony is slated for at 5:00 p.m. at the Teachers’ Resource Centre upstairs the Public Library in the Valley.
Some ninety-five (95) public and private sector personnel who took advantage of the opportunity to re-tool and hone their work place skills by completing the University’s face-to-face courses in Supervisory Management, Small Business Management, Advanced Supervisory Management, Conversational Spanish, Mathematics Levels I and II, Mastering English and Occupational Health and Safety will be recognised.
During the ceremony, the 2018/2019 Executive Members of the Anguilla Chapter of the UWI Open Campus Guild of Students will also be commissioned.
“This year’s ceremony is a special one,” says Manager for the UWI Open Campus BOT Sites, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks. “The year 2017 was one that tested the tenacity of all sectors of the Anguillian society and the continued positive response to our local and online programmes is another demonstration of our resilience. This recognition ceremony provides an opportunity for us to celebrate the achievements of our local course participants, and also to express our appreciation for the support of our stakeholders and the community at large,” the local UWI Representative said.
The UWI’s 2017/2018 academic year closes on 31st July 2018 and the 2018/2019 academic year begins on 1st August. Applications for semester one online programmes also close on 31st July, while persons interested in the local Continuing and Professional Education Programmes can apply throughout the year.
