The Blowing Point Harbour is experiencing its worst ever mass of sargassum seaweed which is continuing to invade the south coast of Anguilla as well as all over the Caribbean and parts of the United States.
The previous fairly light litter of seaweed has significantly increased to a heavy flow near the shoreline at Blowing Point, extending from just below the three piers down past the hurricane-wrecked Dolphin Discovery area.
Thinner layers of the invading seaweed are seen farther out to sea -either threatening to encompass the ferryboats anchored there or to impede their movement.
Meanwhile, Sandy Hill Bay, Long Pond Bay and the Forest Bay remain the heaviest areas of seaweed concentration.
