The Anguilla Toastmasters Club (ATC) held an informative Speechcraft Workshop, at the Public Library from June 18th to July 27th 2018, for contestants in the Summer Festival queen competition.
In this workshop, the queen contestants were taught the fundamentals of public speaking, how to think on their feet, how to capture the attention of an audience and the art of effectively answering questions. The speech training workshop is also a way to introduce the Club to prospective members by demonstrating the benefits of Toastmasters.
The Anguilla Toastmasters Club has been conducting Speechcraft workshops for queen contestants for the past four (4) years, and we are proud of all participants who have taken advantage of the opportunity to improve their public speaking skills.
We must also specifically mention and congratulate Ms Dee-Ann Kentish Rogers, the reigning Ms Anguilla and 2017 Speechcraft participant, on her recent achievement as the winner of Miss Universe Great Britain (MUGB).
We encourage anyone who would like to become a confident public speaker, or an effective leader, to consider the Anguilla Toastmasters Club where he or she will find a supportive team and a fun and fulfilling learning environment – that allows him or her to achieve his or her goals at his or her own pace.
The Anguilla Toastmasters Club meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Anguilla Community College.
