On a two week stay in Anguilla this month we were shocked and disappointed at the amount of trash, abandoned cars and litter we observed on the main road from the West end to the East end. The beaches from Junks Hole to Cove bay are unstable due to the seaweed and trash. The stink from the Sargasso was so bad on the road to the Forrest we had to turn around. Other than the beaches on the North side of Anguilla there is little to draw tourists. No amount of marketing can overcome the mess that tourists see upon arrival. Five Star destination? No, not even close ar present. If you make Anguilla pristine (like some beaches) the tourists will return. Tourists are choosing other island because of the buzz on social media about the filth on the island.
