Scotiabank (Anguilla) Limited is again sponsoring the Talented Teen Pageant this year for the 5th consecutive time as part of the Anguilla Summer Festival. The competition, involving five contestants, will be held at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre on Sunday, August 5.
The contestants are K’Diyah Dubique, Riana Richardson, Serverine Pradel and Charisma Jones-Chin.
A sponsorship cheque for EC$20,000 was presented to the contestants and the Talented Teen Committee by Scotiabank’s Branch Manager in Anguilla, Mr. Remakrishnan Ramsingh. He said the sponsorship was considered as a launching pad for the youth of Anguilla and an indication of the bank’s support as they go forward.
Mr. Romie Kelsick, Manager of the Talented Teen Pageant, said the event would be held under the theme “Expressions of Culture”, and that Scotiabank was continuing to make a contribution to the development of Anguilla’s young people.
“Pageantry is more than glitz & glamour,” he observed. “Apart from displaying their talents, contestants have an opportunity to enhance their public speaking skills, learn to become more disciplined individuals, and also develop their time management skills. All of these elements are vital throughout their livelihood.”
Kelsick added: “On behalf of the Anguilla Summer Festival Committee, I once again thank Scotiabank for their efforts in making the Miss Scotiabank Talented Teen Pageant 2018 a reality.”
