Native Sons Productions is setting the stage for the celebration of the 11th Anniversary of the unique Cultural Radio Show “Culturally Yours” and the 8th Annual Cultural Recognition Awards, under the theme “Safeguarding & Strengthening our Cultural Values”.
The 2018 awards will recognize six (6) persons who had played a great part in Anguilla’s Culture and was interviewed, recalling significant aspects of their lifetime cultural, treasurable moments on Kool Fm Radio 103.3 fm.
To recognize these individuals, a Cultural Award ceremony will be held in a tropical morning setting at Flavors Restaurant, La Vue, South Hill on Saturday 19th May, 2017 at 8 am.
Native Sons Productions, which comprises Messer’s Leroy ‘Brother Lee’ Richardson and Alwyn “Jerry Dice” Richardson, indicated that the event is designed to be memorable and produced in the honor of our cultural gems and jewels, with much pomp and flamboyance. The 2018 award recipients are all cultural heritage laureates, who have lived the Anguilla Culture in many aspects and maintained the best practice of our rich unique heritage and ensured that it was sustained over many generations and who has inspired cultural change. The Cultural Awards are aimed to promote the benefits of cultural heritage conversation by highlighting good practices examples and guidance, as well as offering the owners or guardians of our cultural heritage recognition for their invaluable work.
The 2018 celebrated recipients are Mrs. Miriam Hodge (Diamond Impact Award), Mrs. Claris Sasso (Cultural Circle of Excellence Award), Mrs. Ruby Connor ( Cultural Spotlight Award), and Messer’s Hon. Osbourne Fleming (Paramount Achievement Award), Evans Harrigan (Cultural Pinnacle Award) and Clive Smith (Standing Ovation Award). A special Award (The Champion Award) will be awarded to Mr. Keith Richardson for his committed and dedicated community service to the people of Anguilla.
