Congratulations are in order for Whaldama O. Brooks Jr., who has graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Cole’s Business School at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. The school is ranked number 2 in the world.
He is the 22-year-old son of Mrs. Aruada Carter Brooks, a Preschool Teacher at the Ebenezer Methodist Church, in The Valley, and the late radio journalist, broadcaster, educator and linguist, Whaldama O. Brooks (Ras B).
Whaldee, as the brilliant graduate is affectionately called, began his studies in January 2015. He excelled in his studies in every semester, maintaining an A average and was always on the Dean’s list. He graduated this month with a grade point average of 3.85.
Whaldee, whose studies were privately financed, was very disciplined in achieving his goals. He has been described by one of his professors as “an intelligent, kind and good young man”.
He is a member of the following honor societies: the Beta Gamma Sigma Society; the Golden Key International Honor Society; the National Honor Society of Phi Kappu Phi, and the National Society of Leadership Success. He was also a volunteer with the National Collegiate Sales Competition.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Whaldee represents Anguilla well, loves his island and is a lover of cricket. He has travelled across the United States playing cricket with the United Beacon Team of Atlanta.
A statement from his family reads: “On behalf of the entire Brooks and Carter families, we wish you God’s blessings as you continue your journey in life. We are proud of you.”
