As its refurbishing and expansion programme rapidly continues, Belmond Cap Juluca in Anguilla has opened a gym for its hard-working and grateful employees, a number of whom are involved in the building process.
The fully-equipped fitness facility was opened at a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony by General Manager, Mr. Tiago Sarmento, on Wednesday, April 4. “It is a gym built by employees for employees,” he commented, adding that Belmond Cap Juluca was probably the first private sector company in Anguilla to have provided such a facility for its workers.
“I want to thank everyone who has been working really hard after the storm to make sure that we get Belmond Cap Juluca nice and shiny by the 17th of November,” he stated. “I know it has not been easy because we all have our own issues and situations we have had to go through with our families and friends. A lot has been done already and a lot is still to be done. It is exactly 31 weeks until the opening date and we can see the construction going at an extremely fast rythym.”
He continued: “The gym will be here for you at all times. We are very proud, if I am not wrong, to be the first private company on the island to have a staff gym. From what I see it is an amazing quality of equipment. I can’t wait for everyone to start using it.
“The gym will be available for all Julucans and everyone will be able to enjoy it. We will open daily from 5.00 am to 9.00 pm. In that way we will all keep not only our minds strong, but also our bodies equally strong.”
The gym is located in close proximity to the temporary office area.
When Belmond Cap Juluca reopens on November 17, 2018, it will have doubled its occupancy rooms to 113.
