In May 2003, Omari Banks made history as the first player from our tiny island of Anguilla to play Test cricket for the West Indies. Was so happy to hear Hon. Cardigan Connor highlight this on Mark Romney’s Upfront A Conversation with the Nation last night. This year will be 15 years since I took part in that exciting motorcade through Anguilla. It felt like my son was selected. How have we honored this hard working, ambitious young man. Other islands name streets, highways and stadiums after their athletes.
To date nothing has been done. Do not let 2018 end without doing something long lasting and well deserving for this young man.
