We all face challenges. The challenges you face in life were never designed to take you down, they make you stronger. You would never know your strength or abilities except you found yourself stretched beyond what you could do or take. I have faced many challenges this year but I had great people by my side, you know who you are. Challenges are an essential part of life but if they transform you into unhappiness, anger, self-pity, resentment, complaining and despondency then they have lost their purpose. To be challenged is not to think something is wrong but to overcome and be strong.

Our challenges serve one purpose; to assist and support us to grow and unfold from one level of consciousness to the next. God wants all of us to expand into someone greater and grander than we are presently. In order to transcend, go above or beyond a challenge, we need to learn something new or rather unlearn because spiritual growth is about letting go and releasing that which no longer serves us, that we can always become more and never less than who we truly are.

So our challenges may be described as stepping stones into higher levels. Of course we need to always remember that God is always for us and never against us.

Today, no matter what you’re facing, always know that after the night comes a glorious dawn. For in life we have to travail in order to prevail. No one can be a star without a scar.

We are never given a challenge too large or great for us to handle. Each of our challenges has been uniquely designed for each of us to develop character and strength. What do you do when challenges arise?

Give thanks, express gratitude and appreciation for being given the opportunity to move to another level and ask God for guidance. No resistance, thus no pain or suffering – only gratitude and faith.

Remember to learn the secret of counting your blessings and enjoying life regardless of your circumstances. We want each of you to achieve. Together we can change the world, but it starts with all of us. So let’s move.

Why are we celebrating a week of activities for our students with special needs?

This week is designed to educate the public about children with exceptionalities and garner special education. Since its inception, this week has served to spotlight the capabilities of our students with special needs and programmes that support them in their development.

Special education is making great strides, and as a result, doors continue to open for students with exceptionalities to achieve academic and lifelong personal success. Our aim is to provide them with opportunities to become independent, self-sufficient citizens who give back to their communities. We give parents hope concerning the future of their children.

How can all be involved:

1. Present awards to teachers, parents and local community individuals -outstanding educator -outstanding employer if persons with disabilities -parent of the year

2. Profile historical and famous people with disabilities (read their stories during form class) -Franklin D Roosevelt -Whoopi Goldberg -Walt Disney -Stevie Wonder
3. Sponsor a movie night ‘Temple Grander’ ‘The King’s speech’s
4. Invite locals who have disabilities to speak to students.
5. Encourage all students to read books about individuals with exceptionalities in the classes
